Hi there,

One of my friend has posted nice well-written tutorial about how to convert Flash Video files (FLV) to Windows Media Video (WMV) using a freely available software from VideoLAN

What is Flash Video files (FLV) ?

Flash Video file is a file format used in various video sharing website such as Youtube and Google Videos. These files are tuned for web sharing and broadcasting applications. You can download these FLV files from Youtube and Google Video by using a free web service VideoDL.org

Although FLV files is light enough, Windows Media Video (WMV) file format are more flexible and are better supported by multimedia applications.

In fact, it is the main (perhaps the only) reason to convert FLV to WMV is because WMV files are widely supported by various multimedia and hardware player.

Please read the how to article at his website : Converting .flv (flash video) To WMV to find out how to perform the conversion.
